Manifesto for Human Dignity and Equal Rights Worldwide
Our Purpose
We are journalists with extensive knowledge, experience, and awareness of human rights violations across the globe. We are committed to strengthening Finland as a global defender of human rights — a country where human dignity is protected consistently and unconditionally.
We believe that rights are not granted by political favor, public opinion, or majority rule — they belong equally to every individual.
Our work is founded on respect, inclusion, dialogue, and democratic principles governed by the rule of law.
Our Vision
We envision a world where:
- Every child grows up safe and protected
- Every woman and man is treated with equal dignity and respect
- Every person — regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religion, or background — can live openly and safely
- Human rights are reflected not only in law but in everyday life
Our Principles
1. Human Dignity is Universal
Human dignity does not depend on identity, beliefs, nationality, or social status. Civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights are interconnected and inseparable.
2. Equality Without Exceptions
We support equal protection and equal opportunities for all, including:
- Women and girls
- Children and youth
- Persons with disabilities
- Migrants and refugees
- Indigenous peoples
- Prisoners
- Sexual and gender minorities
We stand for inclusion.
We stand for justice.
We do not act against any group, country, political party, or religion — we act for equal rights for everyone.
3. Respect for Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation
We affirm every individual’s right to define their own identity. No one should face discrimination, harassment, or exclusion based on:
- Sexual orientation
- Gender identity
- Gender expression
- Family structure
Human rights protections apply equally to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer individuals.
4. Protection of Children and Youth
Children have the right to special protection. We promote:
- Safe learning environments
- Protection from violence and abuse
- Protection from online exploitation and human trafficking
- Equal access to education and mental health support
Children’s rights are human rights.
5. Freedom with Responsibility
We defend:
- Freedom of expression
- Freedom of religion
- Freedom of assembly
At the same time, we promote respectful dialogue and oppose hatred, violence, and discrimination.
6. Rule of Law and Accountability
A democratic society relies on:
- Independent institutions
- Fair legal processes
- Access to justice
- Accountability for violations of rights
No one is above the law, and no victim should remain invisible.
7. Social Justice and Inclusion
True equality requires:
- Access to healthcare
- Access to education
- Fair working conditions
- Protection from poverty and social exclusion
We support policies that strengthen inclusion and reduce inequality.
Our Approach
- We operate independently and responsibly
- We seek cooperation with public institutions, civil society, and communities
- We focus on dialogue, research, awareness-raising, and lawful advocacy
Our goal is to build trust, not division.
We promote unity by ensuring equal protection of rights for all.
Our Commitment
We commit to:
- Monitoring human rights developments in Finland and worldwide
- Supporting vulnerable individuals through guidance and assistance
- Promoting public awareness and education
- Encouraging respectful public dialogue
- Building partnerships across communities
Our Declaration
Human rights are not selective.
They are not conditional.
They are not meant only for some while denied to others.
We stand for a Finland where human dignity is protected, equality is meaningful, and diversity is respected.
We do not act against anyone —
we act for the universal human rights of every person.
We are journalists, a voice for those who are unheard, working to ensure that human rights are respected everywhere.
