Finn Right International Human Rights Commission strongly condemns the brutal murder of Polish-Ecuadorian anti-corruption activist Monika Silva Koniuszek.
Based on verified forensic evidence and witness testimonies, Finn Right determines that her death was an extrajudicial killing carried out in direct retaliation for her legitimate human rights and anti-corruption Activist work.
Finn Right further condemns the Ecuadorian Activist government’s deliberate attempt to misrepresent this homicide as a suicide, which constitutes a flagrant obstruction of justice and an affront to international human rights standards.
Factual Findings
Finn Right has compiled the following findings based on independent reports, forensic records, and civil society submissions.
Cause of Death: Contrary to the Ecuadorian Activist Interior Ministry’s initial statement issued on June 9, 2026, Ms. Silva Koniuszek did not die by suicide.

Official Recommendations
To the Government of Ecuador:
Finn Right calls on the Ecuadorian government to immediately transfer the investigation to an independent international body such as the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to ensure full transparency, given that domestic judicial authorities cannot be considered impartial in this matter.
All individuals responsible for this murder including both the material perpetrators and those who ordered it must be identified, apprehended, and prosecuted. Any state officials involved in the cover-up must face equal accountability under the law.
An independent judicial audit into the narcotics-trafficking allegations involving Noboa Trading must be ordered without delay, conducted entirely free from executive interference.
